Parthi Grand Finale
Saishwara Laksha Lingarchana / Aṣṭottara Śatasahasra Sāyīśvara Liṇgārcna
“It is said that Shiva lives in Kailasa. But where is Kailasa? Kailasa is our own joy, our own bliss. It means that Easwara lives in the Kailasa of delight. If we can develop that sense of joy and delight in our mind, that itself is Kailasa". - Sri Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol 18 (1985)
Sahasra Liṇgārcana is a unique Vedic spiritual practice for worshipping Śiva-Śakti. The ritual involves worship of a Prastāraṃ comprised of 1,116 Pārthiva Liṇga, each made using sanctified Mother Earth. The Liṇga are organized as 16 levels (āvarana) of various deities, sages, mountains, oceans, rivers, and so on. The final level at the center is the Mahālingam in the form of Bhagawan as 484 Linga (see picture below). There will be 108 of such prastāra with Bhagawān worshipped by all the devotees.
Through this worship, we also adore the Mother Earth and express gratefulness to the entire universe and its Lord as Śiva-Śakti Bhagawan. The spiritual significance is transcending all the 16 aspects of our minds and becoming full of its source, Sri Sat-Chit-Ananda Bhagawan.
“The moon has 16 fractions, and each day when it wanes, a fraction is reduced, until it is annihilated on new-moon night. After that, each day a fraction is added, until it completes itself on full moon night. The moon is the presiding deity of the mind. There is a close affinity between the mind and the moon; both are subject to decline and progress.” – SSS, Vol 1 (1953 - 60)
